Lone Tree, Exmoor
Taken as we were looking for a standing stone on Exmoor
We parked up around 3 miles west of Simonsbath and headed broadly north along the River Barle valley. I found this tree just before the Pinkery Outdoor Centre.
The mist provided ample separation of the tree from the background, though you can still get a hint of the trees and moorland beyond. I love the mix of muted and vibrant tones. But most of all I like the trees isolation and apparent defiance of the harsh conditions on Exmoor
We never did find the standing stone though.
